James Ebert is the President and co-founder of MountainBased, an adventure company recognized with multiple TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards for being among the best tour operators in the American West. Founded in 2016 with his brothers Justin and Jared, and cousin Nick St. John, MountainBased aims to provide exceptional hiking experiences that honor the legacy of their grandparents’ organization, the Iowa Mountaineers (1940-1996).
An avid outdoor adventurer from a young age, James climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro and hiked the Grand Canyon ten times by age 11 alongside his grandfather and father. His dedication also earned him a full-ride basketball scholarship to the University of Wyoming, where he met his wife, Noelle. Outside of his professional achievements, James enjoys spending time with Noelle and their two dogs, Dublin and Jax.
